Rentaro Mikuni was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Mikuni kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Samurai" (1955) with Toshiro Mifune, "The Burmese Harp" (1956) and "The Sin" (1961) with Raizo Ichikawa. Rentaro Mikuni was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Mikuni kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Samurai" (1955) with Toshiro Mifune, "The Burmese Harp" (1956) and "The Sin" (1961) with Raizo Ichikawa. He also appeared in the Kinnosuke Nakamura action flick "Miyamoto Musahi" (1961), the Tatsuya Nakadai dramatic adaptation "Harakiri" (1962) and "Miyamoto Musashi: Hannyazaka no ketto" (1962). His film career continued throughout the seventies in productions like "Kaigenrei" (1973), "Himiko" (1974) and "Hadashi No Gen" (1976). He also appeared in "Fukushu Suruwa Ware ni Ari" (1979). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Ninguen no yakusoku" (1988), the Toshiyuki Nishida comedic adaptation "Tsuri Baka Nisshi" (1989) and "Marusa no Onna II" (1989). He also appeared in "A-Ge-Man" (1990) and "Rikyu" (1991). Mikuni most recently acted in the Kôji Yakusho dramatic adaptation "Chronicle of My Mother" (2012).
